On May 19, 2012, the Bay-Friendly Garden Tour will take place in Marin County for the first time ever! Join us and learn all about environmentally friendly gardening practices, ranging from harvesting rainwater to creating year-round edible gardens. The Marin Tour is one in a series of Bay-Friendly Garden Tours taking place in April and May in Alameda, Santa Clara and Napa Counties, too. Now in its ninth year, Bay-Friendly Garden Tours are designed to educate and inspire the public about environmentally friendly gardening practices.
Participants will enjoy self-guided tours of private residential gardens, along with garden talks and a plant sale. Featured gardens have been carefully selected to demonstrate a variety of Bay-Friendly gardening practices, working in harmony with nature to reduce waste and protect local creeks, waterways and watersheds. Host gardeners are happy to share their beautiful gardens, vast knowledge and real world gardening experience with you on this special day. Attending the garden tour is a great way to learn more about Bay-Friendly gardening and get inspired.
Pre-registration is required. For more information and to register, visit www.BayFriendlyCoalition.org. Hurry! Online registration closes soon.
This tour is brought to you by the Bay-Friendly Landscaping & Gardening Coalition in partnership with the Marin Municipal Water District, Marin County Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program and North Marin Water District.
