Please join us for the next meeting of MMWD’s Conservation Action Committee on Friday, April 15. We’ll take an inspiring guided tour of three new rainwater-harvesting demonstration sites in Marin, designed and installed by the 10,000 Rain Gardens Project.
Starting at MMWD, a van pool will transport participants to the sites and return you to MMWD. We’ll visit a rain garden and 550-gallon cistern at the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary, a 1,550-gallon cistern and drip irrigation installation at the Tamalpais Valley Community Center, and a 2,500-gallon cistern and compost facility at Marin Art & Garden Center. These projects demonstrate some of the many ways to disconnect from the storm drains, protect local watersheds and aquatic wildlife, and conserve precious water resources.
Conservation Action Committee meetings are open to everyone with an interest in water conservation.
