The Marin Municipal Water District and the Town of Ross are jointly holding a special public meeting on Thursday, April 15, at 7:00 p.m. in the Ross Town Hall to discuss three infrastructure improvement projects on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard in Ross that are scheduled to begin this spring. All three projects will have traffic impacts for their duration, so the water district and the town want to make sure everyone who uses that section of Sir Francis Drake knows about the projects well in advance. Drivers are being advised to allow extra travel time in the coming months and to consider using alternate routes.
Sir Francis Drake Blvd Projects
The first of the three projects is a pipeline replacement project by MMWD, which is scheduled to begin at the end of this month. The upcoming projects include:
- Pipeline: April 26 – June 15. MMWD will be installing 2700 feet of pipe on Sir Francis Drake (SFD) Boulevard between Winship Avenue and Lagunitas Road. The existing pipeline is 100 years old this year, having been installed in 1910 by one of MMWD’s predecessors.
- Sidewalks: July 1 – August 15. The Town of Ross will be installing sidewalks on SFD Blvd between Bolinas Avenue and Kentfield.
- Road resurfacing: August 15 – August 31. The Town of Ross will be repaving SFD Blvd between Bolinas Avenue and Kentfield.
Lagunitas Road Project
The Town of Ross has even more work in store this year. The town is replacing the Lagunitas Road Bridge between June 15 and October 31.
