As part of our new rainwater harvesting pilot program, the Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN) and MMWD will be hosting tours and workshops focusing on local rainwater harvesting projects in our community that demonstrate ways to conserve water, reduce flooding and erosion impacts on neighborhoods, and protect local streams and wild salmon. The first tour will be held February 20 in Fairfax and is FREE for MMWD customers.
What: Tour of community rainwater harvesting projects (cisterns and rain gardens) with discussion and demonstration of rainwater harvesting concepts and applications.
When: 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Meet at the Sustainability Center, 141 Bolinas Road, Fairfax, CA. This tour is cosponsored by Sustainable Fairfax.
Cost: The tour is FREE for MMWD customers, $25 for non-MMWD customers.
